本研究は,地震に対する子どものリスク認知の特徴を明らかにし,学校で防災教育を行う際の留意点をまとめることを目的に行われた。小学校5年生26人と大学生30人が4つの場面のイラストを示され,各場面で地震が起きた時の危険と身の守り方について自由に回答した。その結果,大学生と比較した小学生のリスク認知の特徴として,(1)状況に対する多面的な理解の少なさ,(2)自我関与の低さ,(3)発生確率や被害の深刻さの考慮の少なさが抽出された。これらのリスク認知の特徴を踏まえて,授業内で地震のリスクや身の守り方に関する理解を深化させるための方法を考察した。

The purpose of this research was to clarify the characteristics of child's risk perception on earthquakes and to extract the points to be noticed when conducting disaster education at school. Fifth grade elementary school students (N=26) and university students (N=30) were shown the illustration of 4 scenes and asked to describe the potential dangers of earthquakes and the way to protect them in each scene. The result indicated that elementary school children's risk perception were (1) less multifaceted understanding of the situation, (2) lower self-involvement, (3) less consideration of probability and severity of damage than university students. Based on these results, ways to deepen understanding of earthquake risks and way to protect them in class were discussed.
