小・中英語教育の接続におけるデータ駆動型の英文法指導の実践とICT活用の可能性

[要約] 2020年より，小学5・6年生において外国語（英語）は教科となり，授業時間は年間70単位時間（週2コマに相当）となる。今後の小学校の英語授業においては「コミュニケーション能力の育成」に重点をおきつつ，「文法能力の育成」にも目を向けた指導が求められている。本研究グループは，中学校・高校の英語授業に，これまでにない新しい発想の文法指導の方法として，「データ駆動型学習」（Data-Driven Learning：以下，DDL）を提案してきた。DDLは，コミュニケーション能力の育成を中心に据えた英語授業の中でも活用可能な文法の指導手法で，学習者が文法規則を自ら発見し，探求しながら英文法を学ぶことができる学習法である。本稿では，これまでに筆者らが中学生・高校生に実施してきたDDL実践の成果を踏まえ，小学生に英文法の指導を試みたDDL実践の成果を報告する。また，今後のDDL普及に資する，ICT活用型のDDLのための「DDL学習指導支援サイト」の開設準備状況を報告する。

[SUMMARY] English will become an official school subject for 5th- and 6th-graders in 2020 in Japan and the annual number of English classes will be also doubled. As a result, English education at elementary school is also going to change, and the teaching of English structure, which is currently not paid any attention in English classes at elementary school, will be implemented. In our previous research, we used DDL（Data-Driven Learning）at junior high school and high school and verified its effects on grammar teaching. DDL is a method in which students explore language data to learn vocabulary and grammar inductively in a learner-centered way, In this paper we applied DDL in English classes at elementary school and examined its effects. As a result, we found that DDL can be introduced as an effective method that develops students’ awareness and knowledge of grammar and vocabulary of English. We also reported on the development of a DDL web-site to make use of ICT for DDL instruction.
