抄録

This article aims at revealing the current phase of Hokkaido agriculture, which has been developed mainly for the purpose of maintaining productivity by expanding the farm scale due to the decreased number of farmhouses, as rural living space. It is necessary to clarify the sustainability of local agriculture and rural areas from the viewpoint of the function of farmers. organizations that have shaped the future of regional agriculture. In this paper, it is explored to clarify (1) the actual situation as a local living space, and (2) how the adjustment of farmland utilization is being made under the control of the Dairy Promotion Association which has been playing crucial role in the region. The agriculture in the region, which had been formed by the same size of farmers until then, has been experiencing diversification in terms of size, dairy husbandry methods, corporation forms and so on. As a conclusion, we will discuss how to create a place to discuss regional agriculture and the future of the region.
