アジアの電子図書館研究・開発の動向 Recent trend of digital library research and development in Asia Pacific

最近の10年間で，アジア・太平洋州におけるデジタルライブラリーの諸活動には明らかに進展がある。世界の主要なデジタルライブラリー国際会議のひとつである第8回アジアデジタルライブラリー国際会議（ICADL2005）が2005年12月にタイのバンコクで開催された。アジア・太平洋州におけるデジタルライブラリー研究は文化遺産，多文化や多言語間に関するデジタルライブラリー研究において，世界でもユニークな位置を占めている。本会議での発表や出版物から，アジア・太平洋州におけるデジタルライブラリー研究・開発の最新動向について，技術的および社会的な視点から検討を行った。

Over the past decade the development of digital library activities within Asia Pacific has been increasing definitely. The eighth International Conference on Asian Digital Libraries (ICADL2005) which is one of the major conferences on digital library in the world held in December 2005 in Bangkok, Thailand. Digital library research in Asia Pacific is uniquely positioned in the world to help the development of cultural heritage, cross-cultural and cross-lingual digital library research. Through the presentations in the conference and also the publications, the resent trend of digital library research and development in Asia Pacific were discussed from the two aspects of technical and social.
