Abstract

SHIBUYA INDEX is the unique pesticide index which contains common name, trade name, code number, chemical structure, formulation with concentration, safety, application and use, registration status in Japan and major countries. After having published old style SHIBUYA INDEX from 1962 to 1978, the author published the first edition of new style INDEX in 1978. All known products including combination products in the world are listed, regardless of whether old or new with common name or trade name. The latest issue, 12th edition (2007) contains 8,544 products including 4,766 combination products. This report describes the history and details of the study, such as how the INDEX was made, how it can be improved and how to use it.<br>
