Methodology to evaluate economic return from ova transfers was developed by allowing for the factors such as additive genetic effects for milk production and type score, cytoplasmic and maternally imprinted gametic genetic effects for milk production, sales of breeding stock, semen sexing and survival rate of a female embryo becoming a 1 year-age female. Affordable costs, i.e. maximum costs in order not to lose money were presented. The procedure was applied into small numerical examples. The following points were demonstrated. The share derived from cytoplasmic inheritance in the total gross income has increased with the raise of survival rate or sex ratio of females by artificial inseminations (AI). This trend has become more remarkable by lengthening the years of investment. Affordable costs in 20 years of investment period were higher under the condition of non-culling females than under the condition of a given rate of culling. Additive and cytoplasmic genetic effects for milk production contributed to these high affordable costs.
