抄録

Presacral dermoid cyst in an adult is a rare condition. A, 60 year-old man was admitted to our hospital with a.chief complaint. of constipation.<BR>Rectal examination revealed bulging of the right rectal wall, and a barium enema demostrated a extrinsic deformity in this area. CT scan showed a fist-sized, well-demarcated and low heterogeneous mass in the pelvic cavity. MRI demonstrated a high intensity which is equal to a fatty tissue on T1-weighted images. Tumor was resected through an abdoinino-perineal approach.' Macroscopic examination of the tumor disclosed a 11×9×9cm, capsulated, cystic tumor containing skin, hair and dirty creamy tan liquid material. Microscopic findings showed a cystic structure lined by stratified squamous epithelium containing hair follicles, sweat glands and sebaceous glands.<BR>Histological diagnosis was a dermoid cyst (benign cystic teratoma).
