抄録

Analysis of the factors influencing Prognosis of carcinoma of anterior two-thirds of the tongue was made.<br>The factors related to primary lesion were degree of extent(T classification of U.I.C.C.), clinical finding of tumor, histological grading of Broders' classification and direction of tumor extension.Lymph node involvement was also analysed.The results were as follows.<br>1.Clinical finding of tumor was well correspondent with degree of extent and histologicalgrading.However, the relation between histological grading and degree of extent was not clear.<br>2.Incidence of lymph nodes metastasis on first examination and through all clinical course were 18.1% and 43.3% respectively.Occult metastasis was observed in 24% of all cases.<br>3.Lymph nodes involment on first examination and through all clinical course were cor-relative with degree of extent, histological grading, clinical findings of tumor and direction of tumor extension.Occult metastasis was often found in the cases with histologically highly malignant tumor.<br>4.Lymph node involvement, extent of tumor, histological malignancy, direction of tumor extension and clinical findings of tumor were correlelative to each other.And all these factors have some Influences on prognosis individually and correspondingly.The most important factor was TNM classification, especially N factor.Histological malignancy and direction of tumor extension were also important.Regarding clinical findings, the patients with endophytic tumor have certainly poor prognosis, but the clinical findings were thought to be integrated appearance of the other factors.It was not comfirmed whether tumor appearance itself has influence on prognosis or not.
