In vitro Demonstration of Hydration-Induced Calcium Release in Cells of Nitella flexilis.

抄録

When cells of Nitella flexilis are subjected to transcellular osmosis or osmotic swelling, cytosolic free Ca²⁺ ([Ca²⁺]_c) increases. Ca²⁺ is thought to be released from internal stores due to hydration of the cytoplasm. In the present study we demonstrated that the hydration-induced Ca²⁺ release (HICR) can occur in isolated cytoplasm whether or not it contains chloroplasts.
