抄録

In Decenber 1990, a guideline for PCDD/PCDF was issued for the incineration of municipal solid waste in Japan, practical applications of the countermeasures were extended gradually.<BR>Emission control technologies for PCDD/PCDF are classified into four categolies ; (1) combustion control, (2) rapid cooling of the burnt gases, (3) removal/destruction in the flue gases, and (4) destruction/dechlorination in the flyashes.<BR>In this paper, the relation between the formation/emission mechanisms and the control technologies for PCDD/PCDF is discussed. The practical control methods are introduced extensively, and their adoption order is proposed along with the effectiveness. In addition, the trend of emission regulations/guidelines in foreign countries is reviewed.
