抄録

The sterol components of the sponge Acanthella crista-galli were analysed by argentic column chromatography, gas-liquid chromatography (GLC), combined GLC-mass spectrometry, and 400 MHz nuclear magnetic resonance spetrometry. The sponge contained 3β-hydroxymethylA-nor sterols with various side chains from C₇ toC₁₁, the major sterol being 3β-hydroxymethyl-A-nor-5α-cholestane and 3β-hydroxymethyl-24-ethyl-A-nor-5α-cholest-7-ene which were not found in natural products. In addition, this sponge contained a Δ¹⁵-sterol, 3β-hydroxymethyl-A-nor-5α-cholest-15-ene.
