Polymyxin-B immobilized to polysterene fiber (PMX-F) was shown to be inhibitory to various activaties of endotoxin, including endotoxin-induced lethality and fever. Recent study was under taken to determine if PMX-F would influence the gram-negative bacteria so as to polymyxin-B did. The results showed the anti-bacterial effect. these both efficacies of PMX-F (anti-endotoxin effect, and anti febile effect) is advantage in the treatment for human endotoxemia. In this report we estimate mainly 1) neutralizing ability of PMX-F. 2) biocompatibility of PMX-F with platerets and proteins.
