抄録

Carposina coreana Kim, which was newly recorded in Japan, was caught in a synthetic sex pheromone trap for the peach fruit moth, C. sasakii Matsumura, in Fukushima Prefecture in 2011. The adult and genitalia of C. coreana are illustrated. This species is distinguishable from C. sasakii in having a white head, white base of the forewing, a costal dark brown patch divided by a wavy white line, tapered gnathos and protruded costa of valva in the male genitalia. The larva is known as an important pest of the fruit of Cornus officinalis (Cornaceae) in Korea and China.
