抄録

1. The effects of N-(diethylaminoethyl)-2-methoxy-4-amino-5-chlorobenz-amide dihydrochloride (métoclopramide) upon the motility of the stomach as well as of the small intestine of dogs were studied.<BR>2. In the stomach, when 0.2-10mg/kg of métoclopramide was administered intravenously, there was produced a slight to moderate rise of tone superimposed with the gastric peristalses with increased amplitude. The emptying of the gastric content was accelerated when the rise of tone is of a slight degree, whereas it was retarded when the tone considerably rose.<BR>3. In the small intestine, when 0.2-20mg/kg métoclopramide was administered intravenously, the excitatory effect was most frequently produced, occasionally an inhibitory effect or a transitory inhibition followed by an excitation was also observed.<BR>4. It is presumed that the drug acts upon the intramural nervous elements and/or the intestinal muscle, since the effects of the drug seen after the severance of extraintestinal autonomic nerves were the same as those observed before the severance of the nerves.
