<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>A new A-seco-lanostane type triterpenoid, kadsuric acid, was isolated from Kadsura japonica Dunal and its structure was elucidated as 1 on the basis of the spectroscopic data and the chemical transformations.</jats:p>
