抄録

The relation between the magnetic transition and the crystal structure of Fe0.909S was investigated by magnetic measurements and X-ray diffraction at elevated temperatures. The magnetic transition is considered to result from the change in the ordering of iron vacancies. The activation energy for this transition on cooling is estimated to be 66 kJ/mol. This is nearly equal to the activation energy for self-diffusion of iron in iron sulfide.
