Substitutional Disorder in a Trirutile-type MgSb2O6 Crystal Studied by 1 MV High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy

抄録

Structure images of a trirutile-type MgSb2O6 crystal taken by 1 MV high-resolution transmission electron microscopy reveal that the nearest neighbouring Mg and Sb atoms are mutually substituted and the structure becomes slightly disordered. The substitution site is random and the substitution probability is estimated to be less than 10% by comparing the real image and the calculated one for relatively thick crystals of about 10 nm. Four cation clusters are necessarily formed by the substitution and excite weak diffuse scattering along ⟨110⟩.
