抄録
The SOLA-VOF code, a computer program for the solution of two-dimensional transient fluid flow with free boundaries, has been applied to the analysis of the process of melt puddle formation by the single roller chill block casting technique.<BR>It has been investigated how the melt puddle can be formed on the rotating substrate, how the melt flows within the puddle and how the changes of the process variables affect the puddle.
