SEPARATION OF MULTITRACERS FROM HEAVY-ION-IRRADIATED TARGETS BY MELTING UNDER REDUCED PRESSURE

抄録

Au, Ag, and Cu foils were irradiated with high-energy heavy ions accelerated with the RIKEN Ring Cyclotron. The foils were melted in a quartz tube at a temperature slightly above the melting point of each foil under reduced pressure. Radioactive nuclides evaporated from the foil and deposited on the cold finger or the cold part of the tube were successively washed with warm water (70°C) and hydrochloric acid solutions. The γ-ray spectra of the foils and solutions showed that a number of radioactive nuclides were separated from the target to yield carrier- and salt-free multitracer solutions.
