For a pilot to study the relationship between milk profiles from dam and lianteric diarrhea in calf, milk profiles from 60 Japanese Black cattle which were prepared as control were determined as follows ;milk fat :3.74%, milk protein :3.49%, solids-not-fat :9.36%, milk suger :4.81%, respectively. On the other hand, milk profiles from 11 Japanese Black cattle which were administrated by oxytocin (20 unit) were determinedas follows ; milk fat :5.10%, milk protein :3.48%, solids-not-fat :9.44%, milk suger :4.89%, respectively.<BR>Although the concentrations of milk fat were different in each case, those remainingco mponents were fixed in almost all cases.Milk fat concentrations estimated by high-speed centrifugation in capillary tubes had a positive correlation with those by MILKOSCAN 605. From the results obtained, the administration by oxytocin would be effective for the determination of milk profiles in Japanese Black cattle.
