The therapeutic effect of Cisapride (Acenalin) was investigated in 24 cases of dairy cow with left-side displacement of abomasum (LDA). The 50mg of Cisapride were administrated to LDA cows orally, three times per day, and 25% glucose solution, 25% boroguconic acid calcium solution was injected intravenously as a combination treatment.<BR>In the day following administration of Cisapride, the metallic and splashing sound of the abomasum on the left side flank had disappeared. The appetite was restored in 9 of the 24 cases (37.5%), which was judged as significantly effective. In 8 examples (33.3%), the metalic sound was reduced and the appetite existed, which was judged to be effective.<BR>In 7 examples (29.2%), symptoms remaining unchanged were judged as ineffective.<BR>Therefore, it was suggested that Cisapride administrated orally had a therapeutic effect on LDA in the dairy cow.
