抄録

In this present paper a self-recording gas analyzer using interference of lights is reported. The central part of fringes effected by an interferometer is projected on to the edge of a rectangular glass prism whose two faces reflect the light beam in opposite directions and they are introduced on to two photomultipliers respectively through narrow slits arranged on each suitable position. The shift of fringes from its zero position results in unbalanced photocurrent, and makes a servomotor start to put back the fringes to their original position by a lever mechanism rotating a reflector in the optical system. The angle of rotation of the servo-motor is proportional to the displacement of the interference fringes, which indicates the variation of the refractive index, i.e. the variation of the content ratio of the mixed gas. The sensitivity of this apparatus is observed to be about 1×10-8 index unit, or in case of CO2 gas in air, about 0.01% by velume.
