抄録

The tonsils, especially the palatine tonsils sometimes exhibit atypical hypertrophy, which includes papillary hypertrophy and pendulous hypertrophy (pendulous tonsil). These two forms of hypertrophy are known to be identical histologically.<BR>I have observed another type of tonsil hypertrophy of the pharyngeal, palatine, and lingual tonsils, tumor-like hypertrophy.<BR>The histological picture of this type of hypertrophy has also been found to be the same the other types of tonsil hypertrophy. I call this type of tonsil hypertrophy, “tumorous hypertrophy of the tonsil”.
