抄録

Changes which ocourred while fusing mixtures of polyester (PET) and polyamide (nylon 610, 66, and 6) were studied by differential thermal anaiysis. The mixtures were prepared by mixing in m-cresol and then coprecipitating in methanol. When the mixtures were subjected to successive fusion-cooling cycles in the DTA cell, the position of fusion peak in heating and that of crystalization peak in cooling shifted to lower temperature, and their shape broadened gradually. Similar changes in DTA thermograms were observed when the mixtures were fused under vacuum, while the intrinsiec viscosity did not decrease significanlty. It was suggested from the above results that block copolyester-amide may be formed by an ester-amide interchange reaction between polyester and polyamide.<BR>The depression of the melting point estimated from the fusion peak in the thermograms was accelerated by adding a catalyst and by stirring. The rate of this depression was much slower for the heterogeneous polymer system (polyester-polyamide mixture) than for the homogeneous polymer system (polyester-polyester mixture). The behavior was discussed as it was due to the inhomogeneity of the blended state.
