Thus, 1 to 4% of tiaprofenic acid cream, cream vehicle, 3% tiaprofenic acid in petrolatum and indomethacin cream® as a control were patch- andphotopatch-tested. Positive photopatch testreactions to tiaprofenic acid were seen in 2 outof the 24 patients 2 weeks later, althoughnone showed positive reactions next day afterthe units were removed. In 15 out of the 20 volunteers, patch and photopatch-testings were carriedout two times at a 15 days' interval, and then 200 mg of tiaprofenic acid was administeredorally 15 days later. Positive reactions wereconfirmed at sites photopatch-tested with tiaprofenicacid in 2 volunteers 2 days later. Thewhole tests in volunteers were performed at the Osaka Pharmacology Research Clinic (OPHAC). The 2 volunteers who revealed positive reactionsvisited our clinic, and photosensitivity totiaprofenic acid was confirmed with diagnosticphotopatch test.
