It is shown that the motion of the plane rotator model should be described by a set of equations
(Remark: Graphics omitted.), i=1, 2, ···, N,
and that the Hamiltonian should be
(Remark: Graphics omitted.).
To this Hamiltonian one can apply the method of molecular dynamics. For the case of the nearest neighbor interaction, energy-temperature curve is calculated for one, two and three dimensions. In one dimension our result agrees well with the exact solution. In two dimension a sharp peak of specific heat is found at T∼1.1 J⁄k. In three dimension a singularity is observed at T∼2.2 J⁄k.
