It is shown that the atomic operators characteristic of the split components in the resonance fluorescence produced by a two-level atom obtained earlier (J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 47 (1979) 903) are essentially the transition operators for the composite atom-applied-field system. The exact relationship between these two sets of operators is determined.
