抄録

The Kohistan block in northern Pakistan is interpreted as a surface-exposed crustal cross section down to the upper mantle/lower crust boundary of the “Kohistan paleo-island arc” which was sandwiched between the Eurasian and Indian coantinents at the closure of the Tethys during the Cretaceous. We can enjoy fine exposures of this whole crustal cross section along the Karakoram Highway which follows the Indus River.
