抄録

Surveys on the incidence of major weeds in winter cereal fields and the distribution of ivyleaf speedwell in Kyushu district were carried out in the spring of 1982. Ivyleaf speedwell is a naturalized weed, which was observed in Nagasaki for the first time more than a century ago. The main weeds in the whole Kyushu district included catchweed bedstraw (Galium spurium L. var. echinospermon (WALLR.) HAYEK), Alopecurus aequalis SOBOL. var. amurensis(KOMAR.) OHWI, chickweed (Stellaria media (L.) VILLARS), annual bluegrass (Poa annua L.), etc. Ivyleaf speedwell, which was one of the major weeds in winter cereal fields in the western part of Kyushu, was not observed in other parts of the district.<br>The distribution of ivyleaf speedwell around human dwellings, which was shown in Fig. 2, was mainly restricted to the western part of Kyushu with a small amount of this weed being observed sporadically in other parts of the district.
