A case of generalized lichen sclerosus et atrophicus with peculiar clinical features associated with multiple myeloma in a 69-year-old female was presented.
Physical examination revealed atrophic, sclerotic, erythematous and scaly plaques of various sizes which were an irregular polygonin shape and a map in arrangement on the trunk, extremities and scalp. The peripheries of the plaques were bordered by sharply demarcated, black pigmentation which looked as if the pigmentation was drawn by the magicink. The vulvar region was not involved.
Biopsied specimens showed hyperkeratosis with follicular plugging, atrophy of the epidermis with hydropic degeneration of basal cells, and edema of the upper dermis.
Based on these findings, the diagnosis of generalized lichen sclerosus et atrophicus was made. In addition, multiple myeloma was found in the clinical course.
