抄録

Laboratory and clinical investigations have been carried out on ceftezole (CTZ), a new cephalosporin antibiotic, and following results were obtained.<BR>1) Antimicrobial activity of CTZ against clinically isolated Staph. aureus, E. coli, Klebsiella and Pr. mirabilis was almost the same as that of cefazolin.<BR>2) The peak blood concentration of CTZ was obtained 1/4-1/2 hours after a single intramuscular administration.<BR>3) Average urinary recoveries of 6 healthy volunteers were over 80% within 6 hours after intravenous and intramuscular administration.<BR>4) Clinically, CTZ was applied to 16 patients with infectious diseases, and 13 out of 16 patients, were improved.<BR>5) No side effect was noticed
