抄録

The purpose of this study was to determine the susceptibility of N. gonorrhoeae to BAY o 9867.<BR>The MIC of BAY o 9867 against 31 clinical strains of N.gonorrhoeae was examined and 28 strains showed MIC of ≤ 0.025μg/ml (90.3%) including 3 β-lactamase producing strains.<BR>BAY o 9867 was administered to 58 cases with gonorrhea without association of Chlamydia at initial dose of 200mg and following by 100mg three times a day for 3-6 days.<BR>The overall cure rate was 100%.3 patients with β-lactamase producing gonococcic infection were cured.<BR>Of 43 patients followed for 7 to 14 days after treatment, PGU was diagnosed in 12 patients (27.9%).<BR>Five (38.5%) of 13 patients, who were followed up, with Chlamydia positive cultures developed PGU, while 7 (23.3%) of 30 patients with Chlamydia negative cultures developed PGU.<BR>No remarkable side effects were observed except for headache in one case (1.7%).
