抄録

NM441, a new quinolone derivative for oral use, was administered to 6 patients with eye infections. The following cases were studied: 2 of meibomitis, 1 of hordeolum, keratitis, conjunctivitis and dacryocystitis respectively. The clinical efficacy was excellent in 4 and good in 2. No side effects were observed.<BR>After a single oral administration of 200mg of NM441 in fasting healthy volunteers, NM394 levels in both serum and tear fluid were determined. The peak levels in tear fluid were achieved at 2h after administration, and the mean peak level was 0.198μg/ml, which corresponded to 20% of the mean serum level at the time.
