抄録

In order to establish the easier treatment method of small decubitus ulcers or tissue traumas, we tried to use the new dressing material “ Varihesive, called Duoderm in Japan” for outpatients. We tried ten cases of small ulcers with a diameter of less than five cm. on foot, ischial tuberosity, anterior portion of knee or sacral portion of back. We did not use any antibiotics and other drugs except 0.05% Hibitane solution for the wounds.<br>The results were as follows.<br>Case 1, 5, 7, 9, 10: Excellent, completely cured within 4 weeks.<br>Case 3, 4: Good, 50% cured within 4 weeks. Both of them cured by the end of 8 weeks.<br>Case 2, 6, 8: Same condition after 4 weeks. Two of them had persistent infection.<br>After or with anti-infectious medication, the Duoderm therapy became effective.
