We have experienced eleven cases infected with HIV admitted to the two institutions of Kumamoto nationl hospital and the second department of Internal medicine, Kumamoto University medical school.<br>Five out of 11 cases were asymptomatic carrier, 1 was AIDS related complex and 5 were the cases showing AIDS. Infectious routs of HIV revealed that g out of 11 cases were by blood products. Two was ascribed to blood transfusion or sexual contact overseas.<br>All AIDS cases died even though they were treated with AZT, large dose of Glycirrhizin (600mg/day), Xiao Cai Hu Taun (7. 5 g/day), 7-globurin (20g/day) etc.<br>Causes of death were opportunistic infections like Pneumocystis carinii, Cytomegalovirus and besides psychoneurological signs such as dementia, muscle rigidity and paraplegia were followed.<br>Two out of 11 cases with HIV infection were infected abroad. These cases demonstrate that not only we should have right perception concerned about HIV infection but we must make an effort to prevent HIV infection on the global size because traffic of the people across the borders have become much more frequent and easier by the developement of transportation.<br>We made some comments about prevention of HIV infection and treatment of AIDS on the basis of the cases with HIV infection in two institutions.
