Abstract

It appears that skin infections involving streptococci have recently decreased in Japan due to improved sanitary and nutritional conditions, not to mention the wide availability of antibiotics. However, there have as yet been published no reports on the exact status of such infections.<BR>This study was undertaken to provide a better understanding of the current status of skin infections Japan, with a main focus on the frequency of streptococcal skin infections and the bacteriological characteristics of isolates from patients.
