抄録

Using 2 species of Amaranthus for grains (Amaranthus caudatus, A. hypochondriacus), a field experiment was carried out to analyze the effect of various methods of nitrogen fertilizer application on the growth, development and yield at Atsugi Central Farm, Tokyo University of Agriculture (Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture) .<BR>In both species, either basal application of the total amount of nitrogen fertilizer or top-dressing at the earlier stage gave good results.<BR>On the other hand, top-dressing increased the grain yield of A. hypochondriacus. The difference in the effects of the nitrogen fertilizer application period on the yield between both species was ascribed to the difference in the growth rate of the vegetative parts.
