抄録

In 1978, one of the authors (H. Oyamada) developed an apparatus which can remove ¹³¹I from the urine on the basis of the action of anion exchange resin (IRA 400) after high dose radioiodine treatment for metastatic thyroid cancer patients. This apparatus has been slightly modified by applying a cartridge filled with IRA 400. This newly modified apparatus was tested for its efficiency in removing ¹³¹I from the urine on 4 consecutive cases. The removal efficiency for an entire term of hospitalization of each patient ranged from 99.98% to 99.83%, indicating a very high efficiency.
