抄録

Laser photodynamic therapy (PDT) with hematoporphyrin derivative has recently been given increasing attention. Many investigators have recognized that PDT is an effective local treatment of early stage central type lung cancer.<BR>To clarify clinical effectiveness due to PDT, a bronchofiberscopic brushing cytology was performed chronologically.<BR>The initial cytomorphological changes, swelling of cytoplasm, eosinophilic staining of cytoplasm and nucleolysis were occured after 10 minutes argon dye laser irradiation (200mW/cm²). 4 days after PDT, repair cells with promonent nucleoli appeared. Recovery to normal epithelium was recognized 4 weeks after PDT.
