抄録
This review highlights the use of atropisomeric (axially chiral) chromophores for stereospecific photoreactions. The presence of axial chirality in the substrate imparts excellent stereo (enantio- and diastereo-) control affording high selectivities in point chiral photoproducts. 6π-Photocyclization and [2 + 2]-photocycloaddition are detailed as exemplars to highlight the richness and diversity of atropisomers undergoing photochemical transformations.
