Abstract

This study aims to clarify the process of constructing social capital by collaborative interaction between shopping district organizations and local associations through the festival management of Kameido-Suijin-Taisai (Suijinsai). Through this study, the following has been identified (1) The relationship between Sui-jinjya and Hachiman-Shinkokai before the revival of Suijinsai, (2) The historical changes in land use due to urban-renewal within the surrounding regions of Sui-jinjya, (3)The development process of social networks through management of Suijinsai, (4)The changes in social interaction after the revival of Suijinsai.
