抄録

This study clarifies the situation of the City Planning Area that newly designated or expanded after 1997. First of all, we examine the trend of the City Planning Area of recent years by the questionnaire survey. And, we investigate hearing for the cities that designate the area aiming at land use regulation. As a result, we clarify that it is necessary to base the range of the City Planning Area designation on the boundary in the area where the restriction by the individual control law is strong or to designate it for the whole area of an administrative area. Moreover, we clarify that administrative divisions that designate the City Planning Area have to be independently related to the City Planning Area designation from a large area aspect with unitarity of municipalities in the surrounding.
