抄録

We investigated the influence of the glare illuminate upon pupil diameter and contrast sensitivity on normal subjects and mild cataract patients.<br>We measured the contrast sensitivity and the pupil diameter in a dark room with no glare illuminate, slight glare illuminate, and maximal glare illuminate. Contrast sensitivity was measured by the VectorVision™ CSV1000Halogen Glare Test, and the pupil diameter by the IRISCORDER® C7364.<br>Glare illuminate made constricted pupil strikingly so that contrast sensitivity of normal subjects was not declined in the glare illuminate.<br>Contrast sensitivity of mild cataract patients decreased by the glare illuminate.<br>The contrast sensitivity measurement under glare illuminate was considered as a useful method detecting the decrease in contrast sensitivity of mild cataract patients.<br>Moreover, it was suggested that the contrast sensitivity under glare illuminate is decreased by the scattering of light which exceeded the effect of reduction of aberration with the constricted pupil.
