It is well known that sulpiride is a selective dopamine D-2 antagonist with antipsychotic and antidepressant activity, and its therapeutic uses include the treatment of schizophrenia, neurosis, depression, duodenal ulcers and inadequate lactation. We have been reported two patients with chronic tongue ulceration who were treated successfully ulceration itself using sulpiride which expected relief of chronic tongue pain.<br>In this paper, clinical diagnosis of Candida-associated tongue ulcer was made in both patients. Anti-fungal treatments, however, were ineffective and the tongue pain became more severe. Furthermore, the pain could not be relieved by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Thus, we prescribed sulpiride (150mg/day) to reduce psychogenic pain at least. A consequent improvement in both pain severity and ulceration were observed 3 weeks after sulpiride administration in both patients.
