Abstract

Sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma (SNUC) is uncommon, often presents in the advanced stages, and is associated with a poor prognosis. A standardized treatment has yet to be established. We report a patient with SNUC who was successfully treated by etoposide plus cisplatin (EP) therapy.<br>A 35-year-old man who presented with a history of dull headache was diagnosed with SNUC (T4bN0M0). Induction chemotherapy of EP therapy was commenced, resulting in complete remission after one cycle. A further two cycles of EP therapy were undertaken, followed by carbon-ion radiotherapy. There has been no recurrence or metastasis. This case suggests that EP therapy might be an effective treatment for patients with SNUC.
