抄録

A steel frame check dam named Nashizawa Dai-ichi Sabo Dam was failed by debris flow with boulders on July 9 2014 at Nagiso town in Nagano prefecture. According to the accident analysis report, multiple flange joints with bolts were completely destroyed due to the impact of debris flow. Thus, it is very important to investigate the failure mechanism and ultimate strength of flange joint with bolts for the steel check dam. This paper presents an analytical study on the ultimate strength of flange joint with bolts using 3-dimensional detailed FE analysis.
