  • Influence of foot deformation characteristics on joint function during cutting motion

抄録

<p>The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of foot deformation characteristics on joint function during cutting motion. Three male participants performed cutting motions under bared and shod conditions. The three-dimensional coordinated data of markers attached to the body and foot were measured with a motion capture system, and the ground reaction forces exerted by fore and rear side of foot, which is modelled as two-segment model separated at the navicular bone, were measured with 3 force plates. Bending and torsional stiffness of axes at virtual joint, set at the boundary part of the foot segments, were calculated from static equilibrium equation with respect to the moments exerted about the two axes. The functional roles of the leg joints were quantified by using dynamical force equation derived from multi-body dynamics and regarding 4-segment-linked whole-body system. The results indicate that 1) the stiffness of the bending axis increased once at a time in the deceleration and the acceleration period, while the stiffness of the torsional axis increased in the latter half of the ground contact period, and 2) restoring torque contributed negatively to the generation of the ground reaction force.</p>
