<p>Nanosheets (NSs) have recently attracted our attention because of their various fascinating properties. We proposed a new method to synthesize NSs by using hyperswollen lamellar (HL) phase, which is classified as one of the lyotropic liquid crystalline phases. This method uses the inside of bilayers comprised of amphiphilic molecules as sandwich-like reaction field. Here, we report the synthesis of ZIF-8 NSs; Calcinated ZIF-8 crystals which contain single cobalt atom are expected as precursors of high-performance oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalysis.</p>
