唐代行政地理の地図情報について

本稿は、「唐代行政区」を地図上に表示する際に生ずる問題点について検討する。まず初めに、「唐代行政区」を地図上に表現するために、行政の中心であった行政府治所の集合として捉えた。そして、地図上への図示は、行政府治所の所在地をマッピングする事で実現する方針を立て、実際のポイント設定手段について述べる。次に、上述の方法で地図上にポイントを設定した「唐代行政区」を「現代の行政区」とどの様に関連づけるかにっいて検討し、対応関係の概念モデルを作成した。歴史史料は、その質・量の制約により得られる情報に制限がある。そのため、「唐代行政区」の様に平面的な広がりを想定できない地理情報をどの様に扱うか、また現代の地理情報とどの様に関係付けるかについて、本論では抽象化した汎用的概念モデルを提示した。無論、ここでの方法は単に唐代の歴史地理情報のみならず、同様な制限を持つ歴史地理情報を扱う上で参考になるはずである。

Web mapping is an excellent means of visualising and understanding geography. This paper presents a conceptual model of web mapping on administrative geography of the Tang dynasty. Since its administrative units has no their boundaries in the Tang dynasty, we use their geographical information on maps from their capitals. Furthermore, we construct relationships between the Tang's and the present administrative units, and present a search method using this relationships. Our approach of constructing mapping information can be applied to similar historical situations.
