Dynamics of polymeric fractals

We present an effective medium theory of the viscosity of a solution containing polymeric fractals. Both the intra- and interfractal hydrodynamic interactions and the excluded volume effect are included. Suppressing the entanglement effects, we have obtained explicit formulas for the viscosity at arbitrary frequencies and polymer concentrations. The concentration dependence of the screening length of the hydrodynamic interaction is also derived. The dependence of the viscosity of the solution on the fractal and spectral dimensions of the suspended fractals is also discussed.
